ICJHF President Letter, June 2016

ICJHF President Letter, June 2016

Two years have passed so quickly!  As I said back then, change was needed and had arrived. We have witnessed a lot of change over the last two years. Some good and some not so good. The introduction of a true national promotion at our franchise was both positive and negative. We were more uniform in appearance but franchisees were forced to run their business differently than they had in the past, even though  our clients didn’t want it that way.  How much did that cost us?

Unfortunately, after the last two years we find our businesses in a worse place.  Initiatives by this administration provided minor temporary relief, but ultimately resulted in the worst year Jackson Hewitt has ever had.

What is the answer?  I don't have it but I'm confident that a short term fix won't work. We need leadership that can quickly assess our situation, understand our core competency and have the vision, experience and courage to execute, and stick to, a viable long-term path to success.

In the best interest of the association I have decided not to run for another 2 year term as president. I have enjoyed leading our association the last 2 years and will remain a board member for my term and as long as my region wants me there.  We are fortunate to have a lot of talent in our association. It's time for a new leader. With that I'd like to tell you that our board has elected Kim Bledsoe as our new president. Kim has been a leader and contributor in our system and association for many years now. We are excited and confident that we can maintain strong, competent leadership of our association with Kim as president.  Good luck Kim!

Finally, thank you for the honor of being your president and your incredible support.  I am always available for any questions you may have.

Best regards,

George
